Stan Musial hangs up his uniform for the last time in 1957. He won the 1957 National League batting title with a .351 mark, giving him the batting championship for the seventh and final time in his career. Honus Wagner, with eight was the only National League player with more batting titles. Rogers Hornsby also had seven titles during his career. Musial had helped the Cardinals to a second place finish in 1957, eight games behind the NL & MLB champion Milwaukee Braves.
