Stan was brought up from the minor leagues at the tail end of the 1941 season. His major league debut was during the second game of a doubleheader against the Boston Braves at Sportsman's Park on September 17th. Stan collected 20 hits in 47 ab for a .426 ba.in 12 games. His first home run came at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh on September 23rd.
