Bob Gibson of the Cardinals pitches to one of the Boston players in the fourth game of the World Series in St. Louis. Gibson won the Series opener in Boston and would win this game hurling a 5 hit shutout, winning 6-0. The win gave the Card's a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, but it would take the full seven games for them to finish off the Bosox. Gibson came back to win game 7 for the Cardinals, 7-2, allowing only 3 hits and striking out 10 in his complete game performance. Gibson's three win performance in the series would earn him the Series MVP award, the second of his career, the first coming in the '64 Series.
