Willie Mays and "The Catch." September 29, 1954 in the 8th inning of Game 1 of the World Series off the bat of the Indians Vic Wertz. The game was tied 2-2 in the top of the 8th and the Indians had runners on 1st and 2nd base with no outs. "The Catch" prevented at least one and quite possibly two runs from scoring as Giant relievers were able to get the next two outs preserving the 2-2 score. Dusty Rhodes would connect for a pinch hit three run home run in the 10th inning giving the Giants the win. The Giants would end up sweeping the Tribe in 4 games.
