October 12, 1964 World Series Game 5. Bob Gibson gives the Cardinals a 3-2 lead in the series with a 5-2 win over the Yankees. Tim McCarver's three run homer in the 10th inning gave the Cards the lead and Gibson made it stand up retiring the Yanks in the bottom of the tenth. Gibson went all ten innings allowing only a two run home run to Tom Tresh, giving up a total of 6 hits and striking out 13 Yankees.
